Snow.

It happens everytime there's a snowday: I can't sleep in. I'm just awake, and there's nothing I can do about it. Today is a bit of a different story, though - I had one of those nights last night where I woke up an hour after finally getting to sleep and I was awake for about an hour before getting back to sleep. Lather, rinse, repeat - I think I actually only got about three hours of sleep, which got a little tiring, so when my alarm went off I was more than ready to get up and leave that pattern behind. And then Richard calls to wish me a happy snow day. Not that I'm complaining - I'm ecstatic that I get an unexpected (but much hoped and wished for) long weekend! But, it would have been nice to be able to sleep in.... It's snowing nicely outside, but I have the feeling that the school was closed because of the potential of the storm today, not because of the actual accumulation so far.

I'll leave you with some pictures. Enjoy!

Annie gave me this for Christmas - I get to grow a bean plant that's actually magic and I'll get to climb it and find a goose that lays golden eggs.... No, not actually - but close - it's supposed to have my name on it when it gets a little bigger....

For those of you who don't know, I've become an Independent Consultant for Epicure Selections. As such I've been able to get a few more items - above, you'll see my new wonderful insulated tea pot - I'm drinking tea that was made in it, and let me tell you, it's good tea! ;) And it has the bonus of a) looking ultra stylish and sleek, and b) having a non-drip spout - no drips when I poured my cup of tea!

Below, you'll see my new favourite product - Red Garlic Sansel - it's a salt substitute. Brian and I have been using it on every meal since I got it at the beginning of the week. I add little to no salt to dinners, and then sprinkle a little of this on - it has a FANTASTIC flavour and the citrus in it adds the illusion of salt to your meal. I've ordered the Chili Lime Sansel and should be getting that soon - very exciting. By the way, if you're interested in hosting a party ever, send me an email or leave a comment here and we'll set up a date - you get free stuff, I get to introduce more people to the delicious tastes of Epicure, everyone gets to eat lots at the tasting party! It's fun. Trust me. I decided to become an Independent consultant after only going to 1 party!

If you haven't heard Garner's new CD, find a way to do so. Garner, for those of you who haven't heard of them, is made up of two Redeemer Alumni (Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal) and the drummer, Matt McFarland (sorry, Matt, don't know where you're an alum of). Check out their website, and, breaking news: you can now purchase their tunes on iTunes. I recommend "You Were Right", "Coming Home", "No Never No", and pretty much every other song on the disk! It's great fun to sing to, harmonization is fantastic, and everything just gels together so very well. I love it.
